Alexander Lerche is a photojournalist and news producer with Al Jazeera English.
His photographic works focus on the human relationship with the environment and conservation.
Before joining Al Jazeera he reported for the news wire agency SWNS, and freelanced as a photojournalist in Central and West Africa, and the Middle East.
He has contributed to Al Jazeera online, The Sunday Times, The Times, The Herald, The Scotsman, The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Record and Daily Mirror, worked investigations for the Mail on Sunday and the Daily Mail, as well as photo reportage for YourMiddleEast.com and Bold Magazine.
Prior to training in journalism at Cardiff University he worked as an exploration geologist in the Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, and Liberia.
He lives in Doha with his dog and two cats; Orwell, Daisy, and Bilbo.
